Our Story
Jennifer grew up in Singapore, a small island on the equator with a very dense population. In her thirties, she became weary of the hectic city life and left Singapore for the beautiful mountains of Colorado. What began as a brief respite became a way of life. Twenty-five years later, she has settled here & is proud to be a US citizen.
Brian was born and raised in the Midwest and also moved to Colorado in his thirties. He is retired from a four-decade career in health care. Brian and Jennifer met later in life and married in 2018. Between them they have four children, four grandsons, plus Ollie the goldendoodle!
During COVID, while hunkering down like the rest of the world, Brian and Jenn had an epiphany. As avid gardeners they always dreamed of having property to grow locally sourced products. Their entrepreneurial spirit kicked in and after careful research, they developed a plan to grow lavender. Lavender is astoundingly beautiful with an abundance of delicate fragrance. For generations, Europeans have grown lavender for its amazing beneficial properties.
After searching across many properties to find just the right soil and conditions to grow lavender, they found a slice of heaven just outside of Fond du Lac, WI. The first field of lavender was started in 2021 and now they manage a full acre of 2,000 plants spanning over 8 varieties. Why only one acre, you might ask? Because everything is done by hand: planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, and processing. No chemicals and no pesticides. At harvest time in June and July they are grateful for the extra help from extended family to cut, bundle and process thousands of lavender stems.
Today, Brian and Jenn winter in Colorado and farm lavender all summer in Wisconsin. It’s an unusual lifestyle, but they love it!
